STEM.org Educational ResearchTM(簡稱STEM.org)由Andrew B. Raupp創辦,成立於2001年,是全球最著名的STEM組織之一。總部位於美國美國底特律,為80多個國家的學校、地區和組織提供服務。自2001年成立以來,STEM.org致力於為全球的STEAM教育產品、製造商和經銷商提供專業的認證和資源。至今已有20年的歷史,並且得到美國參議院的認可。STEM.org目前是全球對STEM產品和學校/課程進行認證的唯一第三方驗證機構,已經為10萬名國際學生、4000位老師、5000個場域進行了認證,其認證標章也已標示在約4300項產品包裝上,在學界及業界擁有極高的公信力和影響力。STEM.org教育團隊研發了第一個針對教師、教學場域和產品、出版品的STEM驗證框架,審核在線培訓和評估過程,設計課程標準和最新的STEM教學法。這種教育模式起源於1990年代的美國,並在2009年後得到美國總統歐巴馬的積極推動。政府希望透過STEM教育培養學生的創新和科技能力,從而強化國家在科技領域的競爭力,推動國家的發展和進步。

STEM.org Educational ResearchTM (referred to as STEM.org) was founded by Andrew B. Raupp in 2001 and is one of the world's most renowned STEM organizations. Headquartered in Detroit, USA, it serves schools, regions, and organizations in more than 80 countries. Since its establishment in 2001, STEM.org has been dedicated to providing professional certification and resources for STEM education products, manufacturers, and distributors worldwide. With a history of 20 years, STEM.org has been recognized by the United States Senate and is currently the only third-party certification body globally for STEM products and school/curriculum accreditation. It has certified 100,000 international students, 4,000 teachers, and 5,000 venues, with its certification mark appearing on approximately 4,300 product packages, enjoying high credibility and influence in both academic and industrial circles. The STEM.org education team has developed the first STEM certification framework for teachers, educational venues, products, and publications, auditing online training and evaluation processes, designing curriculum standards, and the latest STEM teaching methods. This educational model originated in the United States in the 1990s and was actively promoted by President Obama after 2009. The government hopes to cultivate students' innovation and technological abilities through STEM education, thereby strengthening the country's competitiveness in the field of technology and promoting national development and progress.
The term STEM includes Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, and in recent years, Art has been added, forming STEAM education. John Maeda once said, 'Art is the key to innovation.' By integrating art into technology education, students' creativity and imagination can be cultivated, and more human emotions and aesthetics can be expressed in technological innovation.
The certification standards of STEM.org are very strict, covering evaluations of educational products, company teams, future visions, and social responsibilities. These standards include fully integrating STEAM concepts into home and educational programs, meeting standards for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, supporting the development of student 21st-century skills, and undergoing third-party review and evaluation processes. These standards not only give STEM.org certification higher credibility but also ensure that certified products and companies have excellent quality and educational value.
The founder of STEM.org Educational Research, Andrew, has been featured in Around Campus by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and New Learning Times by Columbia University, selected as one of the '40 under 40 Elite' in Oakland County, and chosen as an innovation leader by the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
STEM education products can be judged based on the following eight dimensions:
1. Relevance to STEM themes
2. 21st-century literacy
3. Provision of auxiliary extension materials
4. Diversity (including gender equality, racial integration, and bridging the gap between rich and poor)
5. Socialization and enhanced communication skills
6. Enhancement of imagination and cognition
7. Inclusion of tactile learning
8. Integration with future STEM jobs
